Day 1
Arrival at Tours H-B
We suggest a 2 hours walking tour between the Cathedral and the historical part of the city.
Day 2
Tours to Azay-le-Rideau H-B 32 or 44 km
You can follow the LoireRiver down directly from Tours centre. After crossing the CherRiver at Villandry, you go south through orchards to Azay-le-Rideau on the IndreRiver.
Day 3
Azay to Azay B&B 38 or 54 km
You follow the LoireRiver from the village of Bréhémont to the chateau of Ussé before returning Azay through the large forest of Chinon. The longer option crosses the LoireRiver to the Feudal Chateau of Langais and a Gallo-Roman site.
Day 4
Azay-le-Rideau to Chinon H-B 40 km
You ride south to the stunning village of Crissay-sur-Manse. Before joining Chinon and the VienneRiver, you ride through some of the best vineyards of the Province, Cravant-les-Côteaux.
Day 5
Chinon to Chinon B&B 40 or 52 km
Down the Vienne River you join the Loire at the village of Candes-Saint-Martin. Follow the river to Montsoreau before reaching Fontevraud and its Royal Abbey. You pass François Rabelais’s house at la Devinière on the way back.
Day 6
The trip finishes in Chinon after breakfast
