Day 1
Arrival Bayeux H-B
You can visit the famous tapestry, the cathedral, and the commonwealth war museum, which are allocated in the centre of the town, as well as the wonderfully preserved old part of the town.
Day 2
Bayeux to Bayeux B&B 40 or 52 km
You cycle east towards Courseulles and Juno Beach. After a stop at the peaceful Canadian cemetery, you ride westwards along the coast (Gold beach) in order to visit Arromaches with its remarkable artificial harbour (Mulberry) and the German battery of Longues-sur-Mer before returning to Bayeux.
Day 3
Bayeux to Carentan H-B 61 or 68 km
You ride to Omaha beach to visit its impressive American cemetery at Colleville sur mer. After la pointe du Hoc, we suggest a quiet road south, passing near the German cemetery at La Cambe before entering the Natural park to find your accommodation in the centre of Carentan.
Day 4
Carentan to Carentan H-B 52 km
You’ll ride a few kms through beautiful green pastures, and then arrive back at the coast at Utah beach. On your way back to Carentan, there can be a short rest at the village of Sainte-Mère-Eglise.
Day 5
Carentan to Bayeux B&B 60 or 70 km
This last cycling day will be all inland and away from war sites. We go through numerous isolated villages and stud farms, then cross the forest of Cerisy and have the opportunity to visit the Balleroy chateau before returning Bayeux.
Day 6
The trip finishes in Bayeux after breakfast.
