Day 1
Arrival at Avranches H-B
You are met at the station and taken your hotel. The hotel is right in the centre so you can visit the old town, its cathedral and also walk around the beautiful city garden.
Day 2
Avranches to Pontorson B&B 36 km
This first ride is downhill from Avranches to the Mont-Saint-Michel bay and its Abbey. You need around 3 hours to visit the “town island” and its abbey on foot. During the ride to Pontorson, you pass by the German War Memorial of Huisnes-sur-Mer.
Day 3
Pontorson to Dinan B&B 58 or 75 km
Leaving the bay, you quickly get the feel of rural Brittany with its remarkable granite buildings, Celtic sanctuaries and quiet villages. After the visit of the pretty town of Dol-de-Bretagne, you will ride through some woods before reaching the Rance canal which takes you straight to the medieval town of Dinan.
Day 4
Dinan to Cancale H-B 30 or 42 km
We suggest you visit Dinan in the morning on foot. The ride today is fairly short and very exciting as the Rance River gives the impression of being on the coast and in the middle of the country at the same time.
Day 5
Cancale to Cancale H-B 45 km
Cancale, a little fishing harbour on the western side of the bay. A few kms north, you get to the Grouin headland and the open sea. From here to Saint-Malo, you follow a secondary coastal road. Facing the Channel Islands and their warm waters, we suggest a few quiet beaches for a swim! After the visit of Saint-Malo’s inner walled city, you return to Cancale.
Day 6
You are taken to Dol-de-Bretagne TGV station after breakfast
